What is the Prenuvo Body Scan?
Have you ever wondered what the inside of your body looks like? What if there is something that might be wrong with your organs, or what if they do not appear the way that they ideally should? What about finding out whether or not you have any tumors or lesions that might look cancerous, or an aneurysm in your brain that might just be a ticking time bomb?
Well, the Prenuvo body scan is essentially a full-body MRI machine that can detect early signs of cancer and chronic disease within the body. This MRI machine can scan your entire body, from head to toe, with a full 360-degree range, in every single plane of your multidimensional form, and the best part is that all of this can be done in just under 60 minutes, with nothing more than a 4-hour fasting prep!
The images from this scan are medical-grade, clinically diagnostic, and are performed with such high standards and quality, that any radiologist can look at your images, and will easily be able to diagnose specific conditions throughout the entirety of your body.
Why Is Prenuvo So Invaluable?
There are a number of cancers and terminal illnesses that are very difficult to detect early enough for an optimal chance of survival. One example is ovarian cancer, which is extremely difficult to diagnose early-on, due to the symptoms being so similar to generalized gastrointestinal and digestive upset. Many women with ovarian cancer merely experience symptoms of abdominal fullness, bloating, and gas, much of which can easily be written off as indigestion. By the time that ovarian cancer is often caught, the tumor has become so large that it has likely spread, and the treatment options become much more limited, with reduced chances of survival. With Prenuvo MRI scans; however, there have been countless mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts, whose lives have been saved, due to how early their cancers were able to be detected!
Similarly, brain aneurysms are localized regions within the vasculature of the brain, where the walls of the vessels begin to weaken and balloon out. Many people do not even know that they have an aneurysm in their brain, and if it is not caught as an incidental finding on an unrelated scan, then it can end up killing them if it ruptures. If an aneurysm is caught early enough; however, it can be easily treated without any adverse effects occurring.
My Personal Prenuvo Experience:
I was given the opportunity to experience the Prenuvo scan first-hand, and I have to say that it was one of the easiest and least invasive forms of imaging that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The only thing that was asked of me was that I perform a water-only fast for 4 hours prior to the scan, in an effort to ensure the most optimal and accurate images. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted, and provided with a clean set of scrubs, as well as a personal locker to store all of my belongings. There were no intravenous dyes or solutions required prior to the scan, and I was made to feel as comfortable as possible, with pillows propping my knees and elbows, and plastic reinforcements holding my limbs in place.
I have had MRIs performed in the past, where the machine was so loud and nerve-wrecking, that I could not wait to get out! In contrast; however, the Prenuvo MRI machine was so innovative, and had a beautiful and sleek open design, which made me feel extremely comfortable and calm. There was fresh air blowing through small vents inside of the machine, which made breathing so much easier, and the platform that I was strapped to moved so effortlessly through the machine, that I could actually see outside of it, and into the room, for a significant portion of the scan.
I was also provided with a set of clean headphones, where I was asked the type of music that I would like to listen to, and as soon as the classical piano music started, I found myself dozing off. When the technician announced that there was only 10 minutes left of the scan, I found myself wishing that it would last longer, so that I had an excuse to continue taking a nap!
Approximately two days following my scan, I had the pleasure of discussing my entire full-body scan, going through each slide and sectional plane (e.g. brain tissue, vasculature, soft tissues of the abdomen / pelvis, tumor scans) with Dr. Raj Attariwala, who is the brilliant doctor and engineer, who designed this innovative machine.
The amount and level of information that I learned about my own body, including things that I would have never known had I not performed this scan, were so insightful and informative. For example, I learned that the muscles in my neck have become so tight over the years, that it has started to reverse the normal curvature of my cervical spine! Visually seeing this made me realize that I needed to start taking steps to ensure that this process does not proceed and create more permanent issues down the road. I am so very grateful to have been given the opportunity to see my body from the inside-out.
