Chronic Pain

Chronic Pain

Pain is a very real and debilitating part of our lives. Nearly 50% of the world population is afflicted with chronic pain1. What many of us don’t realize is that there are a myriad of reasons we struggle with pain day in and day out; however, it does not have to be this way. The job of a naturopathic doctor is to find the root cause of the pain, and to treat the cause.

There are a number of physical modalities that can be utilized to reduce the severity of pain, while we work on peeling away the layers to expose the underlying cause of the problem. Some of the modalities used include bodywork & myofascial release, acupressure & trigger point release, joint & extremity unwinding, targeted exercises, mind-body medicine & biofeedback, as well as perineural injection therapies (PIT).

Many of these physical modalities help to correct structure, while we work to correct the cause of the insult(s) that allows our internal structural integrity to weaken in the first place. In this way, we not only support you in improving your immediate quality of life in your day-to-day tasks, but we also strengthen the body’s overall defenses and core ability to ward off insults, and prevent them from pushing your vital force out of balance.
